Pet boarding vs pet creche vs home stay: which is right for your pet?
Petroo lists three kinds of pet stays. Each suits different pets and different plans; here is how to choose.
| Pet boarding | Pet creche (day care) | Home stay | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Overnight stays at a professional boarding home or pet hostel | Day-time care; your pet comes home in the evening | Your pet stays in the home of a verified pet lover |
| Best for | Vacations, festivals, work trips | Long work days, pets who dislike being alone | Shy, older or anxious pets who like a calm home |
| How long | One night to several weeks | A few hours to a full day, on the days you choose | Overnight, day stays or both, as the host offers |
| Setting | Purpose-built space, often with play areas and staff | Playtime and company with other pets | A home, usually with fewer pets at a time |
| Price on Petroo | Per pet, per night | Per pet, per day | Per pet, per night or day |
Choose pet boarding if…
You're away overnight or longer and your pet is comfortable around other animals. Look for space to play, a clear routine, supervision and features such as AC rooms, CCTV or a vet on call.
Choose a creche if…
You're out for the day and your pet would rather have company than wait at home alone. On Petroo you can book separate days, with your own drop-off and pick-up times.
Choose a home stay if…
Your pet is older, shy, anxious or used to a quiet home. A home host usually looks after fewer pets at a time, in a family setting.
Not sure?
Start with a short stay, or a day of day care, before a long trip. It lets your pet get to know the place and the host. Petroo's team can also help you choose: contact us.
